Data & Reporting Analyst (Healthcare)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data & Reporting Analyst to support healthcare operations by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, reporting solutions, and operational dashboards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, MongoDB, SQL, ETL development, and healthcare data analytics , with experience working on prior authorization, claims, and regulatory reporting . This role requires close collaboration with business, clinical, and compliance teams to deliver accurate, actionable insights while ensuring HIPAA and CMS compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, reporting, or analytics

• Strong experience with healthcare data and operational reporting

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Required Technical Skills

• Python (Pandas, PyMongo, ETL scripting)

• MongoDB (Schema Design, Aggregation Pipelines, Indexing, Performance Tuning)

• SQL (Advanced querying and data analysis)

• ETL Development & Data Pipeline Architecture

• Dashboard Development using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Metabase, or similar BI tools

• Data Validation, Data Quality, and Error Handling

• Healthcare Data (Prior Authorization, Claims, Pre-Payment Review)

• HIPAA & PHI Compliance

• CMS Regulatory Reporting and Audit Support

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for healthcare operational data.

• Build and manage MongoDB schemas and collections supporting the prior authorization lifecycle.

• Develop automated ETL processes using Python to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.

• Implement data validation, quality assurance, and error remediation processes.

• Create real-time and scheduled dashboards to monitor KPIs, SLAs, operational volumes, and turnaround times.

• Develop reports supporting exemption programs, compliance tracking, and executive leadership.

• Perform trend analysis, root cause analysis, and operational capacity modeling.

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and CMS requirements, including PHI protection, audit logging, and role-based access controls.

• Support CMS audits by preparing accurate data extracts, documentation, and reporting methodologies.

• Partner with clinical, operations, compliance, provider education, and business teams to deliver reporting solutions.

• Translate technical findings into clear, business-friendly reports and visualizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting healthcare payer or provider organizations

• Experience working with CMS programs and regulatory reporting

• Knowledge of healthcare workflows such as prior authorization, claims processing, utilization management, or medical review

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms is a plus
