Roll Clamp Operator
Starting Pay: $20.50, once qualified $21.66/hr+
Shift:3rd shift 1100pm-7:00am
The opportunity:
Clamp Truck Operators play a critical role in our production process.
They are responsible for unloading paper rolls from trucks and railcars, stacking roll stock, maintaining an organized workspace, and loading rolls into industrial machines.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
The job is fast paced, requires attention to detail, and a relentless focus on safety.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Primary job duties will include but are not limited to: \u2022
Follow all safety rules and procedures and actively participate in the plant\u2019s safety culture
\u2022 Load/unload production machines, trailers, and railcars utilizing onboard computers (Thors)
\u2022 Perform safety inspections for trailers, docks, and dock plates
\u2022 Utilize proper PPE for equipment safety checks and changing propane tanks
\u2022 Alert supervisors to product quality issues \u2022 Maintain housekeeping and organization in the workspace
\u2022 Perform various other duties as needed
What you need to succeed:
\u2022 Minimum 2 years of experience operating a power industrial machine (PIT) - prior experience at a paper mill or corrugated facility strongly preferred
\u2022 Knowledge of scanning systems
\u2022 Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English
\u2022 Ability to read materials to understand and apply content, such as instruction manuals and procedure manuals.
\u2022 Understanding of how to read shipping tags and shipping manifests
\u2022 Able to perform basic math
\u2022 Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and other safety gear as required (We will provide any necessary
\u2022 Ability sit/drive continuously with occasional walking, kneeling, crouching, squatting, bending, climbing, and grasping.
\u2022 Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
\u2022 Ability to work in an uncontrolled temperature environment (hot or cold)
\u2022 Experience with inventory software preferred
