Job Title: Security Screening Officer – Military and/or Law Enforcement Experienced Required Location: Manhattan, New York Work Type: Part-Time, Full-Time Positions Available Pay Rate: $25.00/hour Shifts Available: Morning – 6AM-2PM Afternoon – 2-10PM Overnight – 10PM-6AM Johnson Security Bureau, Inc. is seeking a Security Screening Officer that will use cutting-edge SmartTech x-ray software. We are seeking vigilant, focused individuals who are passionate about maintaining security, following procedures, and operating with integrity. Key Responsibilities: As a Security Screener, you will play a critical role in identifying potential threats and ensuring the safety of the premises. Your precision and attention to detail will support a secure and efficient screening process. Inspect bags and items using x-ray screening equipment Analyze images and determine if additional inspection is required Communicate findings and concerns to appropriate personnel and supervisors Identify and respond to suspicious items or alarm triggers Record incidents and observations with accuracy and professionalism Maintain alertness and situational awareness at all times Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols Requirements: Military and/or Law Enforcement experienced required Valid New York State Security Guard License High School Diploma or GED Prior professional experience in a security or screening role Strong attention to detail, focus, and consistent work ethic Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Professional demeanor and appearance Authorized to legally work in the United States Successful completion of a drug test with negative results Comfortable using screening software and equipment Must pass an extensive background check (including criminal history, references, employment and education verification, and DMV/credit checks if applicable) If prior military, must provide a DD214 discharge document with status upon job offer Must meet any licensing requirements mandated by state or local regulations Physical Requirements: Work is typically performed in a secure indoor environment May involve standing for extended periods, light lifting, bending, and stretching Use of computers, scanners, and other screening equipment required Must be able to focus for extended periods in a structured, procedural environment Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities Qualifications: Military service, particularly in a security or combat role (e.g., Military Police, Elite Forces) Completion of a public safety or law enforcement academy Degree in criminal justice, public safety, or related field 8+ years of service in any U.S. military branch Prior work in law enforcement, corrections, or emergency services Benefits: 401K for a secure future Direct Deposit (bi-weekly payroll) Healthcare coverage for you and your dependents Dental coverage Vision coverage Paid Vacation to recharge and relax Sick Time Join our team and be part of a company with a rich heritage and decades of success.
