Job Description

Hybrid role with ability to travel on site up to 75% of the time. Primary location is Troy, Alabama.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support capital engineering projects from concept through execution and closeout
• Coordinate installation, commissioning, and validation of manufacturing and packaging equipment
• Partner with operations and maintenance teams to improve production efficiency, uptime, and throughput
• Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and technical specifications
• Manage contractors, vendors, and third-party integrators
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA where applicable)
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues within production environments
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, OEE optimization)
• Maintain accurate documentation including P&IDs, SOPs, and engineering drawings
• Assist in plant layout, line optimization, and capacity planning

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 15 year of professional experience
• 3–7+ years of experience in food manufacturing, food processing, or packaging environments
• Experience working in regulated environments with strong understanding of food safety standards
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, automation, and production lines
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-speed packaging lines, conveyors, fillers, labelers, or palletizing systems
• Exposure to sanitary design principles and hygienic equipment standards
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment
