Summary: Keeps all lobbies and public facilities (such as lobby restrooms, the Spa, front desk, and offices) in a neat and clean condition during the night shift. Overnight Houseperson/ Public Area Attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest and friendly and should also be able to address guest requests and problems after normal housekeeping hours.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Deep cleans hallways and all lobbies and public restrooms
- Sweeps entryways and ensures all entryway mats are clean
- Polishes furniture and fixtures
- Keeps the front of the hotel free from trash
- Keeps the back area of front desk neat and clean
- Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner and broom
- Keeps all public areas neat, vacuumed and dusted
- Washes walls and ceilings, moves and arranges furniture
- Makes sure mirrors, furniture, floors, ashtrays and doors are clean and mark-free
- Dusts and polishes metal work, chandeliers etc.
- Restocks all supplies including toilet paper, soap and hand towels in the lobby wash rooms
- Arrange all furniture in lobby
- Checks ballroom before and after an event to ensure it is neat and clean
- Ensures proper maintenance and usage of equipment and tools (power washer, floor machines, scrubbers, extractors cleaners and buffers)
- Take up any tasks assigned by the Overnight Housekeeping Supervisor
Work Environment
Duties are performed in indoor and outdoor settings. May be exposed to extreme hot and cold weather, wind, dust and noise.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, stand for long periods of time
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to safely work with cleaning equipment and chemicals
