Pride Health is seeking a Histology Technician/Technologist to join a team in Detroit, MI 48202. Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Histology Technician to join the Pathology Surgical team. Under limited supervision, the Histology Technician will perform routine histological procedures on surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue specimens while ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with laboratory standards. Key Responsibilities Perform tissue cutting using rotary microtomes for surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology specimens Embed tissue specimens according to laboratory procedures Stain, coverslip, and label pathology slides accurately Perform special stains under supervision following standardized protocols Prepare and maintain laboratory solutions, stains, and fixatives Maintain laboratory instruments and equipment Document and maintain QC, CAP, and QA records Monitor inventory levels of reagents and laboratory supplies Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data collection activities Follow established laboratory safety and compliance standards Assist with onboarding and demonstration of procedures when needed Required Qualifications Associate’s Degree with coursework in Anatomy, Biology, and/or Chemistry OR Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology OR High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant laboratory experience Certification Requirements HT (ASCP) certification preferred Additional Information: Location: Detroit, MI 48202 Contract: 13 Weeks with possible extension Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday | Afternoon Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Local Pay range: $40-$45/hour *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
