Government Affairs Coordinator

Ameriprise Financial is looking to add a Government Affairs Coordinator to the team! In this role, the coordinator will provide support to the Government Affairs team, the scope of which includes both state and federal government activities, with significant focus on state legislative monitoring and tracking for the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with tracking of political, legislative, and regulatory developments that could impact the firm. Familiarity with legislative tracking software very desirable.
  • Develop and maintain regular communications to stakeholders, including updates and other briefing material.
  • Coordinate reporting of information and data in order to meet disclosure obligations related to public policy engagement.
  • Attend and coordinate coverage of hearings, industry meetings, and other events as needed.
  • Skilled in the use of Excel, leveraging PowerPoint for internal and external presentations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree with relevant area of study
  • 2+ years background and experience in public policy research, tracking legislation, and disclosure requirements related to lobbying and transparency
  • Experience working to provide coverage in multiple jurisdictions preferred
  • Proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences in a variety of mediums
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to prioritize tasks, work independently and be part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant area of study

Base Pay Salary

The estimated hourly rate for this role is $25.24 -$44.28/hour. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
